This guide identifies selected agencies that provide resources to assist in managing sex offenders, and it suggests ways to obtain these resources.
Abstract
The organizations profiled are presented under the following categories: partnership organizations of the Center for Sex Offender Management (CSOM), U.S. Department of Justice resources, nationwide associations/organizations, public organizations, and private organizations. The nature of each organization is described, along with the resources it provides to assist in the management of sex offenders as well as contact information. The resources available in both the public and private sectors include volunteers, donations of in-kind support and supplies, technical assistance, training, peer support and access to colleagues, access to information, and grant support. Suggestions for effective resource development include information on Federal publications that describe various government technical assistance and grant programs, as well as the general procedure for accessing private resources from foundations and corporations, including an outline of the components of a proposal.
