Abstract
The articles in this newsletter deal with a variety of drug law enforcement-related issues including the relationship between drugs and violent crime, the health consequences of drug use for nonusers, how illicit drug use in the U.S. is changing, how illicit drugs are manufactured and sold, and the role of public opinion in drug control policy. Other topics include Federal, State, and local substance abuse control laws; drug prevention and drug treatment programs; various agencies that enforce drug laws; international drug law enforcement cooperation; drug arrests and forfeiture; and the criminal justice system response to drug offenders.
