Abstract
ALSO INCLUDED ARE STANDARDS FOR ENTERING THIS INFORMATION INTO THE TRAFFIC RECORDS SYSTEM FOR USE IN PLANNING, EVALUATING, AND FURTHERING HIGHWAY SAFETY PROGRAM GOALS, INDIVIDUAL CHAPTERS COVER THE PURPOSE OF THE STANDARD, THE AUTHORITY FOR THE HIGHWAY SAFETY PROGRAM, THE GENERAL POLICY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TOWARD ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION AND REPORTING, PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT AND OPERATIONS, PROGRAM EVALUATION, THE VARIOUS TYPES OF REPORTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE STATE ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION PROGRAM, AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT PARTICIPATION.
