This report explains the standing offer arrangements between the English Home Office Directorate of Telecommunications and Pye Telecommunications Ltd. and Motorola Ltd. for the direct supply of personal radios and ancillary equipment to police forces.
Abstract
An explanation is provided of the nature of the arrangements, what is available to police in equipment and maintenance, how forces should use the arrangements, and the role of the Directorate. In addition, prices are provided, and technical information is offered to assist forces in choosing among available options. The procedures for ordering are described, and options for arranging maintenance are outlined. Product descriptions cover personal radios, batteries, chargers, microphones, cables, adaptors, carrying accessories, and covert surveillance accessories. Illustrations of the products also are provided. Appendixes include copies of the standing offer agreements, rental/maintenance agreements, and order forms.
