Written to train volunteer administrators and others in criminal justice agencies, this workbook presents material on a managerial grid that is useful in mobilizing volunteer effort and achieving maximum performance.
Abstract
The materials cover management style preferences, the connections between personal attitudes and assumptions and management style and results. It outlines style options for planning, work execution, and followup, emphasizing the relationship between management style and the agency milieu. The workbook should be used only by trainers familiar with grid theory. Checklists examine individual decisions, convictions, conflict, emotions, humor, and effort. Committee behaviors are described according to direction, decisionmaking, communication, critique, goal orientation, and individual participation. Some supplementary materials are appended.
