THIS PAPER DESCRIBES AND DISCUSSES A METHOD OF MANUALLY STIMULATING A MAN-COMPUTER DIALOGUE INTENDED FOR USE WITH VISUAL DISPLAY UNITS.
Abstract
THE SIMULATION WAS CARRIED OUT USING OPERATORS OF THE PROPOSED SYSTEM TO GAUGE THEIR REACTION AND TO ACQUAINT THEM WITH SOME OF THE CAPABILITIES OF THE PROPOSED SYSTEM AS WELL AS TO VERIFY THE DYNAMIC LOGIC OF THE DIALOGUE. ALTHOUGH THE EXERCISE WAS CARRIED OUT USING THE PROPOSED DIALOGUE FOR THE CITY OF GLASGOW POLICE COMMAND AND CONTROL COMPUTER SYSTEM, THE METHOD DESCRIBED AND THE CONCLUSIONS REACHED HAVE A MUCH MORE GENERAL APPLICATION.
