Research was conducted to examine abuse in the relationships of 563 college students.
Abstract
Frequencies for each gender expressing or receiving any abusive behavior are depicted and mean differences between the genders on the subjective frequency of occurrence for the behavior are reported. Multiple regression procedures were used to predict the expression or receipt of abuse. Results indicate that different predictors emerged for the genders, depending on whether respondents were the victim or the aggressor. 15 references, 2 tables. (Author abstract modified)
