Abstract
Following an introductory section discussing craniofacial image analysis and evolution, the book covers facial morphology and photographic comparison. The section on cranial analysis includes chapters on morphologic and osteometric assessment of age, sex, and race; craniometric individuality; and three-dimensional skull identification via computed tomographic data. A series of five chapters discusses various aspects of skull-photo superimposition, while the final section, on facial reconstruction, outlines principles of facial reconstruction, the relationship of skull morphology to facial features, anatomical and artistic guidelines for forensic facial reconstruction, and assessment of the reliability of this technique.
