Feminism has had an impact on Italian criminology, both politically and theoretically, in such areas as abortion, rape, family violence, sexual harassment, and incest, even though an Italian feminist criminology does not exist.
Abstract
The women's movement and feminist practices and theories have influenced the study and actual shape of social problems and social control. Further, women's institutions and practices exhibit considerable flexibility in their use of laws and in their relationships with government. Theoretical insights produced through feminist politics and by feminist self- reflection are offered that focus on sexual differences in the field of criminal justice. The impact of feminism on the construction of social problems and the influence of feminism on organized crime are assessed. 48 references and 19 notes
