Abstract
There were 2,303 felons discretionarily paroled during the year, along with 1,400 felons who were mandatorily paroled. A total of 3,947 felons were discharged or paroled during the year. Tables and figures give detailed data on such items as the number of months served prior to parole or discharge, felons discharged from the Virginia correctional system by offense according to term of sentence, and term of sentence versus time served. A summary of outgoing prisoners and a 10-year comparison of releases are included.
