Graphs, tables, and narrative summaries describe terrorist incidents occurring in the United States in 1983, the groups responsible, and activities to prevent incidents and deal with terrorists.
Abstract
Six people were killed and 4 were injured in 31 incidents that included bombings, armed robberies, hijacking, and kidnapping as well as other crimes. Terrorist groups included the Cuban group Omega Seven, the Jewish Defense League, a Puerto Rican group, and other domestic and international groups. Data tables show targets and comparisons from previous years. Summaries are provided of the individual groups and their actions; suspected terrorist incidents; prevented incidents; and major accomplishments, during 1983, of the terrorism program focused on apprehending terrorists and preventing terrorist incidents.
