Abstract
The workbook asks questions, presents information, and leaves space for the reader to respond to guided exercises regarding the person's individual cycle of deviance, the physical self in recovery, the cognitive self in recovery, feelings in recovery, spirtuality and recovery, family issues, and areas of planning for recovery. The text emphasizes the need for courage, determination, strength, and the willingness to spend large amounts of time to complete the successful journey to recovery. Areas covered include relapse prevention, nutrition, exercise, problem-solving skills, and positive and negative emotions. Readers are encouraged to plan for recovery in the areas of their support system, therapy, job, housing, transportation, other needs and expenses, free time, legal obligations, and finding friends.
