This article provides a brief overview of face reading for law enforcement purposes.
Abstract
When used responsibly and intelligently, face reading can reveal much about an individual and is one of the many tools officers can employ when interviewing criminal suspects. Face reading provides investigators with insights into an individual’s beliefs, life experiences, and personality style. The author, a world-renowned face reading trainer who was once a Bellevue, WA police officer, explains that one method of face reading, “face mapping,” is accomplished by dividing the face into nine sections, each of which contains at least six different types of information. When each face section is studied individually, it reveals a different aspect of the personality. Mirror imagining is another face reading technique that creates mirror images of the left and right sides of the face to reveal both how a person presents themselves to the world as well as a person’s true self. Indeed, the face carries the majority of all information a person transmits to the world, making training in face reading a worthwhile pursuit for police officers.
