Abstract
The keynote address discussed transitions from juvenile delinquency to adult crime. Plenary sessions were held covering the need for a proactive prosecutorial response to juvenile offenses, leadership and management issues, the prosecutor's role in screening and charging, the intake process, the prosecutor's adversarial role to adjudication, the prosecutor's interest during the dispositional and postdispositional stages of the criminal justice process, a systems approach to managing the chronic juvenile offender, and consensus-building for change. In addition, small group workshops were held; some of the topics discussed were trends in juvenile justice, decisions to divert or waive juvenile offenders, and approaches to adjudication.
