Abstract
EUCLID HOUSE COMMUNITY CORRECTIONAL TREATMENT CENTER IN WASHINGTON, D.C. HOPES TO SERVE AS A MODEL ALTERNATIVE TO INCARCERATION FOR PRISONERS. THE SETTING OF THE FACILITY, ITS STAFF AND RESIDENTS, STYLE OF OPERATION, PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED, AND STATISTICS, COMPILED AFTER ONE YEAR, ARE DISCUSSED. EARLY STATISTICS SHOW A MARKED DECREASE IN THE NUMBER OF ESCAPES AND AMOUNT OF RECIDIVISTIC ACTIVITY. (AUTHOR MODIFIED)
