Abstract
THE DUTIES OF AN ERGONOMIST AND INDUSTRIAL DESIGNER WHO COMPRISED A TWO MAN TEAM CHARGED WITH PRODUCING A CONTROL ROOM CONSOLE DESIGNED FOR THE STRATHCLYDE POLICE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND A SUB-DIVISIONAL CONSOLE FOR THE WEST MIDLANDS POLICE COMPUTER SYSTEM ARE DISCUSSED. THE PROCESS OF DESIGNING THE CONSOLES AND THE EQUIPMENT USED ARE ALSO BRIEFLY DISCUSSED.
