Abstract
The city and State data came from public health agencies, medical and drug treatment facilities, criminal justice and correctional offices, law enforcement agencies, surveys, and other sources unique to local areas. The 19 United States city reports are organized by specific drug of abuse, although multiple-drug abuse is the typical pattern among a broad range of drug abusers. Data are provided for metropolitan Atlanta, greater Boston and Massachusetts, Chicago, Detroit and Wayne County (Mich.), Honolulu and Hawaii, Los Angeles County (Calif.), Miami, the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area, Newark, N.J., New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Arizona, St. Louis, San Diego County (Calif.), the San Francisco Bay area, the Seattle-King County (Wash.) area, Texas, and Washington, D.C. Other reports focus on Toronto, Ontario, Canada, a community health center in Canada, the Caribbean, Central America, France, the French Caribbean, Grenada, Jamaica, Martinique, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Trinidad. Other papers focus on sexual behavior related to drug abuse and drug trafficking and drug abuse trends in rural Louisiana. Figures, tables, and list of participants
