This book contains statistical tables and charts that show the time elapsed between key events of criminal cases in Victoria, Australia, 1992-1993.
Abstract
The key events between which segments of time are measured are committal, readiness for trial, start of trial (arraignment), verdict, and sentence. The time for preparing criminal cases is measured as well. Data depict cross- references between length of time, numbers and proportions of defendants, plea, and custody status. Medians are always shown; sometimes data include minimums, maximums, and percentile figures. For some sets of figures, multiyear comparisons are provided.
