ARTICLE URGES RECOGNITION OF SOCIAL USEFULNESS OF SENIOR CITIZENS AND THEIR POTENTIAL IN HELPING TO REDUCE CRIME AGAINST THE ELDERLY.
Abstract
THE AUTHOR EXPLAINS MANY OF THE PSYCHOLOGICAL HANDICAPS THAT SENIOR CITIZENS EXPERIENCE EVERY DAY. THIS MUST BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT IN DEVISING PROGRAMS THAT AFFECT THEM. THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A CRIME WATCH BY SENIOR CITIZENS WILL BE HELPFUL IN INVOLVING THEM IN THE POLICING OF THEIR NEIGHBORHOODS. SUCH A CRIME WATCH PROGRAM WOULD ALSO FREE LOCAL POLICE TO DO OTHER CRIME FIGHTING CHORES....BS
