One argument over the effects of the environment on behavior concerns how land uses which draw people to an area affect crime. The effects of high schools on crime in their surroundings in San Diego are examined.
Abstract
Burglaries and auto thefts are higher next to public high schools, but not next to private high schools. The difference seems to occur because of the lack of proprietary definitions attached to the use of public high school grounds. (Author abstract)
