Computer information systems have raised a host of anticipated legal issues, and laws governing cyberspace are becoming more numerous and complicated in response.
Abstract
The precise legal rules that apply to particular fact situations associated with the use of information technology, however, are not clear-cut. Some emerging on-line legal issues have already been addressed by Congress and numerous state legislatures. Appellate court case law has also emerged that deals with information technology. Eleven appellate court cases are described as they pertain to constitutional rights and crimes committed with the aid of computers. Footnotes
