Abstract
The authors conducted their interviews in crack houses, heroin shooting galleries, hospitals, prisons, precinct stations, public housing projects, treatment centers, and other places to describe the daily lives and perceptions of individuals directly affected by drug abuse. They also used the transcripts of sworn testimony delivered before the New Jersey Commission of Investigation into Cocaine in 1988. Index
