The Client Oriented Data Acquisition Process (CODAP) is the management information system used by the National Institute on Drug Abuse to collect information on clients entering and leaving federally-funded drug treatment programs.
Abstract
A CODAP admission form is completed on every client who enters treatment, while a discharge form is completed on every client who terminates treatment. Most of the information collected by CODAP forms is demographic in nature, although some data items are used to assess the effectiveness of drug treatment programs. Evaluative items relate to such variables as drug use patterns and employment status and include a generic assessment of client discharge status. A model is presented for charting a client's movement through a treatment regimen, and the model's value in client assessment is discussed. The author believes the model is more accurate than results provided by CODAP discharge forms. 2 references and 1 table
