Intended for use during 1981, this directory lists programs operating residential alternatives for court-involved youths in Massachusetts.
Abstract
The directory is designed to assist placement agencies and referral services, facilitate communication among providers, define and delineate the network of available residential facilities, and present an overview of this component of the juvenile justice system. Each program is listed according to one of the following service categories: group care, specialized group care, residential schools, shelter care, and secure programs. The total number of programs listed is 164. Each entry gives information on the program administrator, primary focus, area served, capacity, staff/client ratio, clients' sex, ages served, length of stay, funding approval, intake contact, types of youths served, and the services offered on site. The appendixes contain an alphabetical listing of all programs according to the program name and a listing of the social service agencies by area (county).
