With a view to filling in gaps in health and welfare services in slum communities, particularly in the area of substance abuse, Mukti Sadan, an action project for prevention and reduction of drug related problems in community slums, was initiated in 1987.
Abstract
Relying mainly on the "Community Development" model, efforts were made to mobilize community resources, and to enhance community participation in demand reduction activities. This paper outlines the conception, setting up and working of this action project. Reference. (Author abstract)
