RESULTS SHOW THAT A RATER'S RANK AND ASSIGNMENT, AS WELL AS AN OFFICER'S ACTUAL PERFORMANCE, CAN AFFECT PERFORMANCE EVALUATION.
Abstract
THE TECHNIQUE USED IN THIS EXPERIMENT WAS A FEED-BACK PROCESS, WHEREBY THE VALUES GENERATED BY ORGANIZATION MEMBERS ON A GIVEN SUBJECT (IN THIS CASE, WHAT SHOULD AND SHOULD NOT BE INCLUDED IN EVALUATING EFFECTIVE WORK ROLE PERFORMANCE) ARE REVEALED TO ALL ORGANIZATION MEMBERS. USING RANK OF RESPONDENT AS THE KEY ANALYTICAL CONCEPT, THE DATA FROM THE QUESTIONNAIRE PROVIDED AN AGENDA FOR DISCUSSIONS THAT CUT ACROSS MANY ASPECTS OF THE DEPARTMENT'S INTERNAL FUNCTIONING.
