An evaluation of five dental stones involving the laboratory and field trials found that three of the stones were better than plasters for casting.
Abstract
They gave good detail and were less critical of water to powder ratio. The casts were strong and if treated with potassium sulphate, could be easily cleaned, even with brushing in running water. A novel method of mixing, by kneading in 200-gauge plastic bags, was found to be easier than conventional methods. Tables, six references, and photographs are included. (Author abstract modified)
