THESE TWO VOLUMES PRESENT THE QUESTIONNAIRE RESPONSES OF STATE BOARDS OF EDUCATION AND MUNICIPAL PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEMS WITH RESPECT THEIR PROGRAMS AND SUGGESTIONS FOR JUVENILE DELINQUENCY PREVENTION AND CONTROL.
Abstract
RESPONSES OF THE BOARDS OF EDUCATION ARE FIRST PRESENTED. PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEMS RESPONSES ARE GROUPED ACCORDING TO THE POPULATION OF THE CITY; THESE RANGE FROM CITIES WITH POPULATIONS OF 250,000 OR MORE TO CITIES WITH A POPULATION OF 20,000. THE QUESTIONNAIRES SOLICIT INFORMATION ON SUCH AREAS AS CURRENT DELINQUENCY PREVENTION AND CONTROL ACTIVITIES, SUGGESTED PROGRAMS FOR THE SCHOOL SYSTEM, POSSIBLE WAYS IN WHICH LEAA COULD ENHANCE DELINQUENCY PREVENTION WITHIN THE SCHOOL SYSTEM. PERSONS RESPONSIBLE FOR DELINQUENCY PREVENTION ACTIVITIES, PROPOSALS FOR DELINQUENCY PREVENTION, AND OPINIONS ON THE PROPER RELATIONSHIP OF EDUCATIONAL SYSTEMS AND FEDERAL FUNDING AGENCIES. APPENDIXES ARE PROVIDED WHICH LIST THE STATE SUPERINTENDENTS AND STATE BOARDS OF EDUCATION, LOCAL SUPERINTENDENTS AND BOARDS, AND FUNDED LEAA REGIONAL PROGRAMS IN DELINQUENCY PREVENTION.
