This volume examines the major social and economic problems facing the United States today.
Abstract
The book discusses the systemic excesses that are poisoning the heart of the Nation: white-collar criminals who steal from other citizens to enrich themselves; arrogant and hypocritical politicians on both ends of the political spectrum; organized crime and its effects on everyday life; televangelists and other fraudulent religious leaders who are fleecing the gullible; and abuses that have permeated the medical and other "helping" professions. The book claims that America's imminent future hinges on what it describes as "the tipping factor." This is the point at which the number of corrupt citizens tips the scale, panicking the rest of the citizenry into throwing morals into the wind so they can "get theirs" while they can. Notes, index
