This publication includes a Microsoft Excel database that contains summaries of all of the published studies and needs for criminal justice innovation resulting from these studies, which constitute the Priority Criminal Justice Needs Initiative (PCJNI).
Abstract
Also included is a brief technical report that describes the database and summarizes the needs within it. The resources developed by PCJNI include the report entitled "Fostering Innovation in Community and Institutional Corrections: Identifying High-Priority Technology and Other Needs for the U.S. Corrections Sector." It presents innovation needs developed and prioritized by the members of the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) Corrections Advisory Panel. As part of that effort, the panel ranked the importance of eight goals of the U.S. corrections sector. Also included are a corrections taxonomy, a tool to rank digital evidence needs, and a tool to rank courts innovation needs. An annotated listing of publications in PCJNI is provided, with online access to each publication.
