THIS PLAN REPRESENTS THE COMBINED BEST JUDGMENT OF EVERY LOCAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE AGENCY IN DALLAS COUNTY AS PRESENTING A BALANCED PROGRAM FOR THE REDUCTION OF CRIME AND DELINQUENCY.
Abstract
THE PROJECTED RESOURCE NEEDS AS APPLIED TOWARD THE TOTAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM REFLECT THE FOLLOWING MAJOR AREAS OF INTEREST: JUVENILE CRIME AND DELINQUENCY, CONTROL OF DRUG RELATED CRIME, LAW ENFORCEMENT, ADJUDICATION, AND CORRECTIONS. THE PROJECTS REFLECTED IN THE PLAN HAVE BEEN CONSIDERED ON THE BASIS OF THE OVERALL PROBLEMS OF CRIME AND DELINQUENCY, ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY, LEGAL FEASIBILITY, ADMINISTRATIVE FEASIBILITY, AND THE EXPECTED BENEFIT TO THE ENTIRE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM. DALLAS AREA CHARACTERISTICS, CRIME AND DELINQUENCY PROBLEMS, SYSTEM CAPABILITIES, AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE GOALS ARE CONSIDERED INDIVIDUALLY. AN OUTLINE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN ANNUAL ACTION PROJECT EVALUATION COMPONENT IS ALSO INCLUDED. IN ADDITION, PROJECT-BY-PROJECT SUMMARIES ARE PROVIDED FOR ALL ANNUAL ACTION AND IMPACT PROJECTS. THE IMPACT PROJECTS SUMMARY COVERS PROJECT PROBLEM, OBJECTIVES, IMPLEMENTATION, EVALUATION, AND BUDGET DATA. THE APPENDIX CONTAINS PROJECT AND GOAL BUDGET SUMMARIES AND RECOMMENDATIONS ON THE HANDLING OF REPEAT OFFENDERS.
