Criminology is an interdisciplinary subject that involves many types of professionals and is therefore a difficult subject for an international conference. This conference focused on the themes of contemporary criminology, role of political influence, and the growing links among all parts of the world.
Abstract
Contemporary criminology involves both the internal aspect of self-definition and the external aspect of presenting its findings to society and government decisionmakers. Although the conference will not issue policy recommendations, criminology can influence crime policy. Finally, although advances in the technology of international communications aid international crime, international law enforcement, and international conferences, the countries of the world vary widely in their cultures, traditions, and criminological perspectives.
