In 1979 in Norway, a total of 131,665 criminal cases were sanctioned, including 121,270 misdemeanors.
Abstract
A total of 83 percent of the misdemeanors involved traffic, while crime against property was the principal crime form. A total of 11 percent of the cases were violent crimes, and 2 percent were sexual crimes. There were 11,104 new imprisonments in the penal institutions and 502 reimprisonments after escape or default. The report presents 28 statistical tables on sanctions and 5 on imprisonments.
