In 1980 in Norway, the police closed the investigation of 121,600 crimes, an increase of 10.5 percent from the previous year. About 75 percent of the crimes were larcenies.
Abstract
Some 135,500 criminal cases were sanctioned, of which 124,900 were misdemeanors only. A total of 81 percent of the misdemeanors related to traffic, while 69 percent of the criminal cases involved a crime against property. A total of 11 percent of the cases were violent crimes, while 2 percent were sexual crimes. The report includes 3 figures, 49 tables showing data on crimes investigated, 27 tables showing data on sanctions, and 5 tables giving imprisonment data.
