This volume explains the laws and criminal procedures of the Republic of Nigeria.
Abstract
Individual sections discuss the composition of courts, the role of attorneys in criminal proceedings, and the courts that have criminal jurisdiction in the country. Other sections explain procedures related to summonses, arrests, searches, bail, the initiation of criminal proceedings, and methods by which such proceedings are limited. The rules concerning the drafting of charges, trial procedures from arraignment to judgment, and sentencing are also detailed. The final chapters discuss appeals, especially the writing of briefs in the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
