AN INSTRUCTOR'S MANUAL WHICH SERVES AS A COMPANION PUBLICATION TO THE TEXTBOOK 'CRIMINAL PROCEDURE AND EVIDENCE' PRESENTS THE GENERAL OUTLINE FOR LECTURES AND DISCUSSION.
Abstract
THE TEXT ITSELF IS DESIGNED FOR USE BY UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND FOR LAW STUDENTS. THE INSTRUCTOR'S MANUAL PROVIDES EXAMINATION QUESTIONS FOR USE THROUGHOUT THE COURSE AND FURNISHES, FOR EACH CHAPTER IN THE TEXT, THREE TYPES OF MATERIAL. THE FIRST SECTIONS NOTE KEY POINTS WHICH THE PROFESSOR MAY WISH TO EMPHASIZE AND ELABORATE UPON IN CLASS. THE SECOND SECTIONS REPEAT THE CHAPTER SUMMARY PROVIDED IN THE TEXT, ELIMINATING THE NEED FOR THE INSTRUCTOR TO REFER BACK TO THE TEXT. THE THIRD SECTION CONTAINS TRUE-OR-FALSE, MULTIPLE-CHOICE, FILL-IN-THE-BLANK, AND SHORT-ANSWER EXAMINATION QUESTIONS. AN ANSWER KEY IS PROVIDED IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE QUESTIONS. THE FIRST 10 CHAPTERS, WHICH FOCUS ON CRIMINAL PROCEDURE, DISCUSS SUCH TOPICS AS FEDERAL AND STATE JURISDICTION, TRIAL PROCEDURES, PROBABLE CAUSE, AND THE DEFENDANT'S CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS. EVIDENCE SUBJECTS INCLUDE KINDS OF EVIDENCE, BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSIBILITY, INTRODUCTION OF EVIDENCE, AND BURDEN OF PROOF. FOR THE TEXTBOOK, SEE NCJ 58955. (LWM)
