The report analyzes workloads in terms of the distribution and risk of crime in the State and the criminal justice system's response to it.
Abstract
Graphs illustrate Part I crime rates in Pennsylvania and other States for the years 1970-75; rates of crime against persons and of property crimes in Pennsylvania for 1970-75; and crime rates for population and other units at risk in Pennsylvania during 1975. A rank ordering of Part I crimes by their unit at risk indicates that the highest rate is for commercial burglary and the lowest rate for murder. Workload statistics cover the police, courts, adult institutional corrections, adult probation and parole, and the juvenile subsystem. Data tables are appended. The report is based on data from the Uniform Crime Reports and the National Crime Survey.
