ANALYSIS OF CURRENT BUDGETING PROCEDURES AND SOURCES OF REVENUE AVAILABLE FOR VENTURA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT.
Abstract
ECONOMISTS AND SYSTEM ANALYSTS EXAMINED THE EXISTING METHODS AND EFFECTS OF FUND DISTRIBUTION AMONG COUNTY CRIMINAL JUSTICE AGENCIES AND WITHIN EACH AGENCY TO IMPROVE THE PROCESS OF MANAGEMENT DECISION-MAKING AND LONG-RANGE PLANNING. A SYSTEMATIC METHOD WAS PROVIDED FOR DISCOVERING ALTERNATIVE COURSES OF ACTION AVAILABLE TO DECISION-MAKERS AND FOR ANALYZING THE COSTS AND EFFECTIVENESS OF PURSUING ALTERNATIVE POLICIES DESIGNED TO ACCOMPLISH BOTH SYSTEM-WIDE AND AGENCY (E.G., POLICE) OBJECTIVES.
