Abstract
Chapters in the book consider crime prevention in terms of policy dilemmas, the dynamics of crime control in public housing, police crime prevention, and women and crime prevention. Chapters also look at empowerment, prevention, and privatization as related to aboriginal crime prevention; lessons for regulatory theory from the prevention of white-collar crime; and a community and youth development approach to youth crime prevention. Final chapters deal with specific crime prevention policies and practices in South Australia, the prevention of alcohol-related injuries, law enforcement and the prevention of drug-related harm, and the politics of crime prevention.
