This annual report presents data on crime and arrests reported by law enforcement agencies through the Nebraska Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program for 1991.
Abstract
After a description of Nebraska's UCR Program, data on crime index offenses for 1991 are presented. These encompass murder, manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, assault, burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson. These are followed by arrest data, data on officers killed and assaulted, police employee data, offense data by county, and arrest data by county. The data indicate that 69,583 index offenses were reported or known to law enforcement agencies in 1991. A total of 5,321 violent crimes were reported in 1991, of which 53 were murder or manslaughter, 447 were forcible rape, 860 were robbery, and 3,961 were felony assault. A total of 64,262 property crimes were reported in 1991, of which 11,556 were burglary, 48,910 were larceny-theft, 3,385 were motor vehicle theft, and 411 were arson. A total of 19,682 index offenses was reported cleared in 1991, a clearance rate of 28.3 percent. A total of 81,050 arrests was reported in 1991, an increase of 5 percent over 1990. Persons under 18 years old accounted for 19.1 percent of the total arrests. A total of 192 assault on police officers was reported in 1991, a 2-percent decrease from 1990. 12 figures and 37 tables
