Crime statistics in Georgia during 1979 are presented.
Abstract
A total of 277,235 Index crimes were reported to police, an increase of 14.3 percent over 1978 and 21.7 percent over 1975. Georgians experienced 28,594 violent crimes during the year and 248,641 property crimes. Arrests in all crime categories were up for 1979. Tables profile crime characteristics from 1975 to 1979 and depict crime trends. Crime projections for the period of 1980-2000 are presented, and county crime profiles are included.
