Abstract
The 139 citations consider crime and the elderly in general; they are not separated according to crimes against the elderly and elderly offenders. The citations cover such topics as crime prevention, guardianship, crime victim issues, elderly inmates, and fear of crime. They also deal with criminal characteristics of retirees, elderly offenders on probation, elderly offender sentencing, criminal case disposition with age as a factor, discrimination against the elderly, crime victimization, male-female differences in elderly arrests, and elderly child sexual offenders. Elder abuse is the focus of several citations which cover domestic abuse and abuse in homes for the elderly.
