These rules of practice for juvenile courts in Missouri were amended in 1986 and took effect on January 1, 1987.
Abstract
General provisions of the rules cover definitions and the applicability and authority of the rules. Specific rules cover custody and detention, preliminary inquiries, petitions, subpoenas, representation by counsel, hearings, and appeals. They also cover the termination of parental rights, the rights of juveniles, physical and mental examinations, search warrants, the transfer of supervision, the disqualification of a judge, and procedures relating to juvenile court commissioners. The 29 forms are recommended for use in juvenile courts but are not required. They include orders, notifications, petitions, and motions.
