HIGHLIGHTED IS THE THREE-YEAR (ENDING IN 1977) CORRECTIONAL EDUCATION PROJECT OF THE EDUCATION COMMISSION OF THE STATES, THE PURPOSE OF WHICH IS TO INVOLVE THE STATES IN IDENTIFYING ALTERNATIVES TO EXISTING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND TO CORRECTIONAL PRACTICES THAT DETRACT FROM THE EFFECTIVENESS OF EDUCATION FOR ADULT AND JUVENILE OFFENDERS.
