Abstract
THE OPENING ARTICLE ANALYZES THE POLITICS OF THE CONSUMER MOVEMENT, DRAWING CONCLUSIONS ABOUT THE NATIONAL MOOD WITH REGARD TO CONSUMERISM AND DISCUSSING THE RELATIONSHIP OF THE CONSUMER MOVEMENT TO POLITICAL PARTIES AND TO SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS. INSIGHTS INTO THE DEVELOPMENT OF CONSUMERISM ARE PROVIDED IN A HISTORICAL PROFILE OF THE CONSUMER MOVEMENT. OTHER ARTICLES COVER THE LEGAL ASPECTS OF CONSUMERISM, BOTH THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL. ECONOMIC AND REGULATORY PERSPECTIVES ARE INVESTIGATED IN ARTICLES ON CONSUMER-RELATED REGULATORY AGENCIES. A SELECTED BIBLIOGRAPHY AND A LIST OF OFFICES TO WHICH CONSUMER COMPLAINTS MAY BE DIRECTED ARE INCLUDED. FOR THE ARTICLES ON POLITICS AND LEGAL THEORY, SEE NCJ-45128 AND 45129, RESPECTIVELY. (LKM)
