A FORCED-CHOICE PERSONAL PREFERENCE SCALE WAS USED TO DIFFERENTIATE ATTITUDES TOWARDS JOBS BETWEEN COLLEGE GRADUATE AND NONCOLLEGE POLICE OFFICERS.
Abstract
THE ADVANTAGES OF COLLEGE-EDUCATED OFFICERS ARE ENUMERATED. DESPITE THE PROBLEMS OF PEER MISTRUST AND DISSATISFACTION OF THE GRADUATES WITH THE RATE OF ADVANCEMENT AND TRADITIONAL POLICE METHODS, THE ADVANTAGES ARE THOUGHT TO OUTWEIGH BY FAR THE DISADVANTAGES.
