Abstract
The Task Force report is titled "Repairing the Breach". It presents information and ideas for use by organizations and individuals to use in transforming communities to create sustained intervention for youth with problem behavior. Its 61 recommendations are organized around the themes of restructuring values, morals, and etiquette of public life in communities; civic storytelling to develop a sense of public kinship; grassroots civic leadership; the creation of the common good; restoring community institutions; and civic dialogue. The videotapes present a television interview regarding "Our Family Table", a program that teaches young black males cooking to strengthen their skills in reading, math, and other subjects and a press conference in speakers respond to hostile questions about the formation of the National African American Male Collaboration. The media training manuals provides guidelines for designing a media strategy, conducting a news conference or other media events, preparing news releases, preparing newspaper columns, and using alternative media and the specialty press.
