Abstract
QUALIFICATIONS OF PERSONS CHOSEN FOR THE MANAGEMENT NEGOTIATING TEAM, OTHER MEMBERS OF THE CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION'S STAFF WHO SHOULD BE ON THE NEGOTIATING TEAM, OUTSIDE CONSULTANTS REQUIRED AND PREPARING FOR NEGOTIATIONS ARE COVERED IN THIS TRAINING COURSE. ANALYSIS BEFORE NEGOTIATIONS SHOULD INCLUDE GATHERING ALL POSSIBLE INFORMATION ON CURRENT WAGE AND FRINGE BENEFITS, PAST GRIEVANCES AND SETTLEMENTS, ARBITRATION CASES, AND POSSIBLE PROPOSALS FROM THE OTHER SIDE. PUBLICATIONS DEALING WITH COLLECTIVE BARGAINING FOR PUBLIC EMPLOYEES ARE LISTED. COSTS AND GROUND RULES ARE DETAILED. STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRESENTING THE MATERIAL ARE GIVEN.
