Abstract
Some published reference works use designated terminology (controlled vocabularies) that must be used to find material on topics of interest. For these, a sample of available search terms has been indicated to assist the reader in accessing suitable sources for the reader's purposes. A list of 14 indexing and abstracting sources provide place of publication, publisher, start date, frequency of publication, and brief descriptions. Three current awareness publications are listed, along with 7 books; 1 U.S. Government publication; 12 online bibliographic data bases; 12 handbooks, directories, grant sources, etc.; 1 journal listing; 3 audiovisual programs; 4 guides to upcoming meetings; 3 proceedings of meetings; 3 specialized research centers; and 2 special library collections. Publication dates encompass the 1970's, the 1980's, and the 1990's.
