This report tabulates statistics describing client characteristics and population movements in facilities under the jurisdiction of the Washington Department of Corrections.
Abstract
The section relating to population of adult correctional institutions and work release programs covers (1) average daily population and related capacity by month, (2) racial origin distribution of all resident inmates and female inmates, (3) distribution of offenses and violent crime convictions, (4) age distribution, and (5) distribution of sentencing authority. Admissions to prison are tabulated by month and type, type and county of conviction, age, county and race, Hispanic origin, type and sentencing authority, offense and type of admission, and month by sex. The final section includes statistical tables concerning releases from prison by type of release and month, race/Hispanic origin and type of release, length of stay by category of admission, length of stay by offense, and all releases by sentencing authority. 23 tables
